What Prompy does — and what we do not

People land on Prompy and ask the same two questions: can you make the picture for me, and do you own what I generate? The short answers are no and no. This post is the longer version, so the site is honest before anyone copies a recipe or creates an account.

What we do

We publish a library of image, video, and text prompts. Each live prompt has a title, a recipe, a cover still, a creator name, and the platforms it was written for. You can search, filter, copy the recipe in one click, and download the cover as a reference. Creators can submit work. An editor reviews it, assigns a category, and decides whether it also appears on the homepage, in Hot, or in Trending.

We also write guides — like this one — about prompting, review, credit, and how the library is run. Those articles are here so the site is a studio with an editorial desk, not a folder of pictures with no explanation.

What we do not do

We do not run a generator. There is no “create image” button that calls Midjourney or Flux on our servers. You copy the prompt and paste it into the tool you already use.

We do not claim the pictures, clips, or paragraphs you generate. Those outputs belong to you and to the AI platform’s terms. We do not sell your prompts to model trainers as a hidden side product. We do not scrape other prompt marketplaces to pad the grid. We do not auto-rank Trending from raw traffic. We do not publish unreviewed uploads. We do not offer medical, legal, or investment advice. We do not knowingly host sexual content involving minors, hate content, or prompts whose only job is to impersonate a private person.

Why this split exists

Prompting and generating are different jobs. If we generated images for you, we would be another front-end on someone else’s model, with all of that company’s limits and none of a library’s memory. Prompy is the memory: a place to keep recipes that still look photographed, with a person responsible for what goes on the shelf.
