Ads, privacy, and how we keep Prompy free to browse

Prompy does not charge you to browse, copy a recipe, or create an account. Hosting, storage, and review still cost money. When advertising is turned on, we use Google AdSense on public pages so the library can stay free.

What you will see

Ads, if they are enabled, appear on public pages such as the homepage, Explore, prompt pages, and the blog. They do not appear on login, register, your dashboard, Create, or Admin. We label ad units “Advertisement” when we place them by hand. Google may also place auto ads on those public pages.

We do not turn ads on until the site has a publisher id and the operator sets that flag. Until then you should not see ad scripts at all.

What we collect for ads

Google and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where the law and your settings allow it. That is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, and in How Google uses information from sites that use their services. We do not sell your name, email, prompts, or messages to advertisers as a list.

Your choices

You can accept or reject non-essential cookies in the banner. You can also use your browser settings and Google’s ad settings. Essential cookies (login, security) still run because the site cannot function without them.

What ads will never be

Ads are not an endorsement. An ad next to a prompt does not mean we reviewed the advertiser. We do not let ads replace prompt recipes or sit on top of Copy prompt in a way that tricks a click. If an ad breaks the page or looks like a prompt card, tell us on Contact.

The library is the product. Ads, when they exist, are how we keep the lights on — not the reason the site exists.
