Likes, copies, and how creator credit works

Prompy shows a creator name, a like count, and a copy count on every live card. Those numbers are not decoration and they are not seeded from a demo script after launch. Here is what they mean.

Your name

The name and photo on a prompt are the account that published it. If you edit your profile, the new name and avatar show on every prompt you already put live. Admin can publish as well; those cards show the editor’s account. We do not replace a creator’s name with “Staff” to make the grid look branded.

Likes

A like is one record per prompt per person. If you are logged in, that key is your user id. If you are a guest, it is your session. Liking again removes the like. The number on the card is the count of those records. We do not sell likes and we do not add them in the seeder to make a quiet prompt look famous.

Copies

Copy prompt copies the recipe to your clipboard and asks the server to increment the copy count. That is how we know a recipe left the building. It is not a perfect measure — people can select the text by hand — but it is honest enough to show which looks get used.

Why credit is the product

A prompt library without names is a pastebin. Creators will not send their best work if the card erases them. Readers will not trust a look if they cannot tell who stood behind it. Credit is also how we run monthly likes in Admin: at the end of the month we can see which creator earned the most likes, from real like timestamps, not from the date the prompt was published.
