How to copy a prompt from Prompy and actually use it

A Prompy card is a recipe plus a still. The still is there so you can see the lighting, wardrobe, and crop. The recipe is there so you can recreate the direction in your own tool. Here is the path we expect people to take.

1. Read the card before you copy

Check the type (image, video, or text) and the listed platforms. A Veo recipe will not behave like a Midjourney one. If the creator named ChatGPT and Gemini, start there. Open the prompt page, not only the grid: the full recipe, creator name, and category live on that page.

2. Copy the recipe, not a screenshot of the cover

Use Copy prompt. That copies the text and records a copy on the prompt so the creator’s count is real. Then paste into your model. If the prompt includes negatives, camera notes, or identity constraints, leave them in. Those lines are why the look holds together.

3. Use the cover as a reference still

Download cover if you need a lighting or colour reference in a tool that accepts an image. Do not treat the cover as a person to clone. Prompy recipes are written to be identity-safe: they describe a scene, not a private individual. If you upload the cover into a face-lock workflow to copy a stranger, that is on you, and it goes against how we ask people to use the library.

4. Change one thing at a time

When a result misses, change wardrobe, lens, or time of day — not the entire stack at once. Keep the structure of the recipe. That is the point of a library: you are borrowing direction, then making it yours.

5. Publish back if you have a look worth keeping

If you arrive at a recipe other people should steal, create an account and submit it. Admin assigns the category. You keep your name on the card. Likes and copies on Prompy are not vanity pixels; they are stored per person or guest and shown as counts.
